Petenwell County Park, the 2nd largest county park in Wisconsin, is open year-round and situated on Lake Petenwell, the 2nd largest body of water in Wisconsin. This 160 acre park is on a beautiful lake, and includes a game room, designated swimming area, boat launch, playground equipment and hiking trails, Harbor of Refuge with slips for transient use, heated shower/restroom facility, visitor/registration station with concession/game room, and paved parking lots with more space. Firewood is available. Additional campsites have been added, most with electricity.

August 16,2019 - All County Beaches are OPENED and being monitored.
We would like to clarify some misinformation that is being circulated. The beaches at Petenwell, Castle Rock, and Arrowhead Lakes are NOT closed related to Blue-Green Algae. The report that is being circulated in recent days is from last year. For current information always be sure to check this page as well as the Adams County Health Department Website.
ATV/UTV Campground
This expansion project was completed in 2018 and provides campers with direct access from your campsite to the Adams County ATV/UTV trail system. You can also see the newly renovated Petenwell Harbor in the top right of this photo.
