Temporary Trail Closure
Some ATV/UTV trails in the Town of Rome will be closed August 7th through August 31st. Trails will reopen Friday Sept 1st at 8am
NEXTERA ENERGY will be conducting some testing with the equipment and workers will be out on these trails. It is in the best interest of all to have this Closure for the safety of the workers and the trail users alike.
Trails that will be CLOSED include all trails west of 10th avenue and north of Cty Hwy D / Alpine Drive.

County ATV/UTV Trails
Official opening is 8:00 AM May 1st and closing is 10:00 PM on October 31st
If a trail has a Closed sign, it is NOT OPEN and you are trespassing!
Adams County has 32 miles of off road ATV/UTV trails and are working at expanding it's trail system as land and monies become available. ATV/UTV's are not allowed on snowmobile trails in Adams County. For additional information or an updated ATV/UTV map contact Adams County Trails Department at 608-564-7513.
ATV/UTV use is not permitted in county park facilities with the exception of the ATV/UTV camp loop at Petenwell Park. Call the Park Office for details at 608-564-7513.

Road Routes
Road Routes signed for ATV/UTV use are typically open year round and regulated by the local municipality via an Ordinance. Each township has its own Regulations. When crossing municipal boundaries you could easily be traveling an approved Road Route onto one that is Not. It is the operator’s responsibility to know and understand their location and the associated rules and regulations. Citations can be issued for riding on unopened Town, County or State roadways.
Township Roads are named like: Fish Lane, Elk Ave, Badger Drive, Akron Court, 13th Lane, 5th Ave.
County Hwys, are an alpha character like Z, E, B, N, F, J etc.
State Hwys, have numeric characters like 13, 82, 21
