The utility rates in Adams County are some of the lowest in the Midwest. Electric power is supplied by Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative and Alliant Energy from an interconnected high capacity system, which is reliable and offers very competitive rates. Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative, a Touchstone Energy Partner, is the state's largest rural distribution cooperative, supplying electricity to most of Adams County and 11 other counties in south central Wisconsin. Alliant Energy is one of the few AAA bonded utilities in the nation.

There are several companies that provide telephone service to Adams County including Frontier, Charter, and Marquette-Adams Telephone Cooperative. Through various providers, high speed and wireless internet are available throughout the county, and Marquette-Adams Telephone Cooperative recently completed a fiber optic installation project that adds high speed connectivity for a large portion of the population.
The remarkable aquifer on which it is situated offers Adams County a remarkable water supply. There are agricultural irrigation wells capable of discharging 500 to 1000 gallons per minute in many location throughout the county, and the county is considered water rich.
Location and Transportation
With a location that is right in the heart of Wisconsin, Adams County is situated halfway between Chicago and Minneapolis and ideally suited for business and industry. We are linked to the surrounding states and all major cities by interstate highways, state highways, railroads, and air service.
Adams County is served by five state Highways: 13, 21, 23, 73, and 82. The most heavily travelled of these, Highway 13 and Highway 21, bisect the County evenly in north/south and east/west directions. Interstates 90/94 and 39 are both just a short drive from the business centers of Adams County.
Air – Adams County Legion Field Airport is a public-use airport located in the City of Adams. The airport provides easy access to local recreation. It has a 60’ x 3400’, lighted, hard surfaced runway. The airport also offers aircraft tie-downs, vehicle parking, hangar/commercial sites, fuel, telephones, and restrooms. Scheduled air service is also available close by in Madison and Mosinee.
Railroad – Rail Service in Adams County is provided by the Union Pacific Railroad, which runs from Chicago to Minneapolis via Milwaukee with several freight trains running each way per day. The Union Pacific Railroad also maintains a terminal in the City of Adams. Industrial land situated along the railroad tracks is available in the City of Adams.
